Breathing Room...
Ahhhhhhhhh...... Been a tight few weeks but thankfully I did well last night and now have some breathing room. Placed 2nd in a $20 multi table tournament with a cap of 180 players. Brings my current bankroll up to $760. While 1st place would have been nice, was not meant to be. I ended up pushing my stack hoping to steel his blind with 33, he called with 66. That was that. Good tournament overall. Had a nice run of card half way through. Things slowed down toward the money cut off. Made a few key moves to squeak in to the money. From there, waited for some decent cards, doubled up, then I tripled up, then quadrupled up which let me put the rest of the tournament on autopilot. Well, autopilot is probably not the right word. But it did let me open up my game allowing me to remain aggressive and continue eating up blinds.
I did take one huge bad beat on the final table though. Found myself in the chip lead. I had KK. One short stack pushes all in, I raise my huge stack all in looking to isolate. I have two callers behind me that puts 3 different players all in. Potential was huge here. Knocking 3 out would guarantee some nice cash. As it turns out, the 3 others in the pot turn over A9, A6, and AJ. Seeing these cards turn over, I felt fairly good with my odds. Long story short, flop comes A rag rag. AJ pulls in the pot thus knocking two individuals out which is still beneficial obviously. Luckily, I still had plenty of chips to work with.
Now that I have a little cash in the account, I'm not going to rush in to any major decisions satellite wise. I'm going to pick and choose my targets. Hope to play some tonight, but I find myself pretty tired. My wife's grandmother passed yesterday which had everyone scrambling all day. Ended up being an exhausted evening. Tonight, I may just take it easy and relax. We shall see.
